One day he will call you using your old pet name for each other and for a second you will feel regret of what could have been if only the cards are on your side and then you will feel numb because you are starting to realize he will never be what you want him to become in your life. And then your tears will slowly find their way out of your eyes and you will wonder why are they falling when you know you are numb and cannot feel a thing.
